Buddhist teaching provides the foundation for judging what is right and wrong, proper and improper, beneficial and malevolent.
Buddhism of Buddha is understood by Practical Dhamma.
Buddha
and his community were interested in issues in politics, economics, and
in pursuing to good life within the lay community, issues that were not
exclusively associated with the Buddha’s teaching but could nonetheless
be illuminated by this teaching.
Buddha’s
teaching is permanent because the Buddha was lived in human realm and
because all his teachings are there. There is no difference between the
cycle of ignorant existence and that of complete freedom of this cycle.
Liberation and transformation does not come about only after this life
but might even be attained in this very life: an attainment for all.
Dhamma is the practice of love, compassion, wisdom, and all the virtues that leads to these qualities.
Japanese
temples are open to public, monastic work in society, and apatronage
system is in palce. Buddhist communities in Japan have also founded
universities and opened department stores. In Korea, Buddhist groups
with long histories have gradually modernised and even established
television stations. All of these events are indications that Buddha
and His Dhamma is permanent which is the wave of the future.
Buddhism is already practice in Vietnam, Malaysia,
Practical Buddhism is the bodhisattva path.
Practical Buddhism
is concerned with the awaken-ness of humanity. If an individual or a group
desires to be accepted, they must contribute politically or economically to
society. By the same token, Buddhism will have value only to the extent to
which it can conform to the times, providing people with joy and happiness.
The rationale for
practical Buddhism derives from the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, because
the Buddha was born, cultivated the path, became awakened, and strived to
awaken others in this world. For the Buddha, it is this world that should take
precedence. He lived among the people, and what he transmitted is practical
Buddhism that is permanent.
Buddhism is needed in
our daily lives. Today, Buddhism is forsaking
the forests and mountains for society, spreading from temples to homes.
Buddhism is living life, making life happier and family life more joyful, and adding
harmony to human relations, the mind, and the spirit.
Buddhism stresses the
purification of life through ethical thoughts and the elevation of both mind
and spirit. If you believe in law of cause and effect and practice in your
life, then the law of cause and effect is Buddhism. If you believe in
compassion and practice it in your life, then compassion is Buddhism. Taking
refuge in the Triple Gem, the five precepts, the six perfections, and the ten
wholesome conducts are are Buddhism that
seeks to liberate all sentient beings.
Without exception,
all the following constitute Buddhsim: writing books and developing theories;
establishing and running schools; building temples and Dhamma centres;
discussing over vegetarian or vegan meals; lecturing on the suttas and
expounding the Dhamma; cleaning streets and protecting the environment;
engaging in educational and cultural activities; providing free medical care;
caring for the elderly andf educating the young; practicing the Dhamma nd
transmitting the precepts; giving lectures on Buddhism; making piligrimages to
temples; reciting the Buddha’s names and practicing Dhamma with others; giving
Buddha’s examinations; singing Buddhist songs an chanting suttas; teaching the
Dhamma to the troops; carrying the teachings to the countryside; nurturing
wisdom and skill; and upholding the precepts in life, as well as the
relationship between oneself and others based on dependent origination, the
cyclic law of cause and effect, the kamma of good and bad, the successful
extinction of suffering and the attainment of peace in life, the world
embracing everything with its nature of emptiness, and true self-fulfillment.
